Your summer is here Indie rock with refreshing sound, Electric Eel's second album [Fluke]

Music that fits appropriately in the background is often called BGM. Conversely, there is music that creates a scene at the moment (though not common). The power of the twelve tracks included in Electric Eel's new album lies here. The unique temperature of the songs and the special emotions conveyed through the lyrics forcibly summon the listener to various places, sometimes to a refreshing summer sea and sometimes to a suffocating alley. If I had to name it, I would call it more of a Scene Maker than BGM.

The vibrant days and nights of summer. [Fluke] contains everything you encounter in summer. The dazzling sun and the sound of waves, the thrill of romance, and the overwhelming loneliness you had to endure alone at the dark alley corner. If the refreshing sound and cheerful rhythm represent the dance of summer days, the simple voice and fresh lyrics represent the walk of summer nights.

The new album [Fluke] can be said to be the essence of Electric Eel. For this album filled with twelve completely new tracks that have never been released before, over 50 demos were gathered, and the final selection of tracks went through several arrangements before recording. It seems that it is not an exaggeration to say that this regular album, released four years after the first album, contains everything about the band Electric Eel. I dare say, it is an album that is hard to come by.

In the cover art themed around table tennis, the four members are busy chasing colorful balls. The bouncing balls resemble the panorama of our daily lives. The title of this album embedded in the cover art along with the balls is the word 'Fluke', which means chance or accidental success. Whether it is a parody of the current times that need luck rather than happiness or just a joke is unclear, but it harmonizes strangely with the table tennis concept and adds fun. While serious theories of happiness are good, sometimes it seems nice to wish each other luck to navigate through the big and small daily events. May there be luck for Electric Eel releasing a new album and for everyone listening to [Fluke].

The last guitar performance of "Equator" is played as a homage to the guitar riff of Weezer - Buddy Holly.
